The lack of equitable funding for female artists creates barriers that can delay or disrupt a young woman’s ability to pursue a college education. Financial strain often limits creative growth, confidence, and access to meaningful opportunities, reducing the diversity of voices represented in the arts.
Her Scholarship Fund Inc. helps bridge this gap by providing annual scholarship support to a promising young female artist. Through this investment, we help ease the financial burden of higher education, allowing her to remain focused on her studies, nurture her artistic voice, and move forward with confidence and purpose. Each year, our support contributes to a future where creativity is valued and potential is fully realized.
Women Lead in Art Education

Although women make up a significant proportion of art and design students, often around 65 - 75% of master’s level fine arts students, their representation in major museum collections and professional opportunities remains disproportionately low, reflecting systemic barriers beyond education itself.
The Gender Pay Gap in the Arts
In the United States, female visual artists earn approximately 74¢ for every dollar earned by male artists, highlighting a persistent pay gap that continues after college graduation and affects long-term career sustainability.
Funding Gaps for Women Artists
Broader funding disparities are evident industry-wide: only 10% of arts funding is focused on projects led by marginalized communities, and women artists often struggle to secure grant support compared to male counterparts, limiting access to critical financial resources after college.
Limited Exhibition Opportunities
Women artists are underrepresented in gallery and exhibition spaces, with only approximately 30% of solo exhibitions at prominent galleries featuring female artists, even though female college enrollment in art programs is high.
